Terms of Service

Welcome to SOHMA Tai Chi Certification, operated by Dr. Daniel Hoover and the School of Healing Martial Arts™ (SOHMA).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites, online courses, community platforms, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By enrolling, accessing, or using any part of our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Program Overview

SOHMA Tai Chi Certification offers online Tai Chi training, certification preparation, and related educational resources provided by Dr. Daniel Hoover (“Instructor”).
Programs may include:

  • Tai Chi Mastery Membership ($49/month, 3-month minimum, then month-to-month)

  • Lifetime Tai Chi Access ($997 one-time payment)

  • Certification Test ($99 fee, available upon course completion)

  • Graduate Community Access ($99/year or $9.99/month)

All materials, videos, downloads, and resources provided are for educational and personal use only.

Payments and Billing

All payments are securely processed via Stripe or authorized third-party payment gateways.
By submitting your payment information, you authorize SOHMA to charge your selected payment method for your chosen plan.

  • Recurring Billing (Monthly Plan):
    Your membership renews automatically each month after the initial 3-month period until canceled.

  • One-Time Payment (Lifetime Plan):
    Lifetime access is granted immediately upon successful payment. No recurring charges apply.

  • Certification & Add-Ons:
    Additional fees (e.g., Certification Test or Private Lessons) are charged separately as clearly stated at checkout.

All prices are in USD unless otherwise indicated.

Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
If you complete the first month of training and feel the program is not for you, contact us within 30 days of your initial purchase for a refund.

After 30 days, all sales are final.
Refunds are not available for:

  • Certification test fees

  • Graduate community memberships

  • Private lesson bookings or live events

Access and Account Responsibilities

Upon enrollment, you’ll receive login details to access your online learning portal and private community.
You agree to:

  • Keep your login credentials confidential

  • Not share, sell, or transfer access to your course materials

  • Use the program solely for personal or professional development

Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or revocation without refund.

Certification Eligibility

Certification is awarded upon completion of:

  • All required modules, assignments, and quizzes

  • A live exam (via Zoom or in-person)

  • Submission of the 24-form Tai Chi performance video

  • A recorded community teaching class review

Certificates are valid for two (2) years and may be renewed for a fee upon review and continued participation.

Communication & SMS Consent

By providing your phone number or email during checkout or form submissions, you consent to receive:

  • Program updates, reminders, and support messages

  • Occasional promotional messages related to Tai Chi training or offers

Message and data rates may apply. You can unsubscribe or opt out anytime by replying STOP or using provided unsubscribe links.

Intellectual Property

All videos, materials, PDFs, graphics, and course content are the exclusive property of SOHMA and Dr. Daniel Hoover.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or share course materials publicly without written permission.

Community Conduct

Participation in the SOHMA Skool community or other discussion spaces must remain respectful and supportive.

Harassment, hate speech, or spam of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in removal without refund.

Limitation of Liability

SOHMA and its instructors are not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in the Tai Chi program.
Always consult your physician before starting any exercise program.
Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.


Modifications to Service

SOHMA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the program at any time, including pricing and content updates.
Any significant changes will be communicated via email.


Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of California, USA.
Any disputes will be handled under California jurisdiction.
